Mohammed Shami joined the training camp of Delhi DareDevils yesterday after the BCCI handed him the central contract for this year. His presence for the IPL fell into doubt earlier due to serious allegations of domestic violence and adultery by his wife Hasin Jahan. The IPL is about to kick start on 7th April 2018.
Shami is facing several personal issues since the tour of South Africa after Johannesburg test. Earlier, BCCI withheld his annual contract on account of serious allegations and police complaint by his wife Hasin Jahan. Recently, he met a car accident as his vehicle collided with a truck on his way to Delhi from Dehradun after attending a training session at Abimanyu Cricket Academy(ACA) run by father of India A cricketer and Bengal batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran.
Shami was caught by the press doing some fitness drills at Kotla yesterday. This was the practice session for the upcoming warm-up game. This 28-year old cricketer still did not recover from his injury and was found with a band-aid on his forehead.
The BCCI handed him a fresh grade B central contract a few weeks ago. He was out of the previous contracts list on account of serious allegations of match-fixing and domestic violence by his wife Hasin Jahan. Shami denied all the allegations made by his wife. He was found not guilty of match-fixing allegations later and was offered the central contract. The hurdles for his participation in the IPL were cleared by the BCCI contract.
