IPL 2018-Probable Faf Du Plessis Replacements We Can See


Faf Du Plessis was down due to injury since the Indian team’s tour to South Africa. This Proteas skipper sustained a finger injury and was advised by the doctors to stay out of cricketing activity for six weeks.

Du Plessis managed to bounce back in the last ODI against Australia after missing out five ODIs and T20I series against India.  He scored a century after a poor performance in the rest of the series.  In this attempt, he hurt his finger which was wounded earlier. He is expected to miss out the IPL on account of injury. Chennai Super Kings has to look for his replacement if he will be out of the tournament.

He made exceptional performances in the longer formats but often fall into dangling position when it comes to the shortest cricket format. He can be an ideal partner for Murali Vijay. He scored 2271 runs from 75 T20s at a strike rate of 133 with an impressive average of 34. As an opener, he did a splendid performance but out of form in the previous edition of IPL and scored 189 runs off 10 games. He is a reliable player for the team but he cannot encounter the spin bowlers with an elegance.

He played for Chennai Super Kings in 2012 and Mumbai Indians in 2015.  He is a good finisher and was a reserve player for the team to replace Watson or Murali Vijay. He scored 2103 runs off 76 matches with a strike rate of 134 at an average of 30.

Hashim AmlaThis South African all-rounder has an impressive IPL record. He is one of the greatest batsmen in the world class cricket. He scored 420 runs off 10 matches in the previous IPL edition with two centuries and a terrific strike rate of 160. This strike rate surpassed the records set by Chris Gayle. He scored 1277 runs from 43 T20s in his career with 8 half centuries and the strike rate of 133. His ability to tackle the spin attack will be the greatest asset for the team.
