Brisbane Heat is to take on Sydney Sixers for the Big Bash League Semi-Final-2 on 25th January 2017. The Amazing BBL Season 6 will end on the last Sunday of January 2017. The match is to take place at Gabba, Brisbane and decides the second finalist for the BBL.

The Brisbane Heat team is led by Former star player of the New Zealand team, skipper Brendon Mc Cullum. The team got 5 victories out of 8 matches in the current season and got 10points with its dominating performances and the net run rate of this team rose to +0.516 securing second place in the points table.

Earlier, Heat lost its first place in the points table due to the team’s loss to Renegades. As they are in the second place, the Heat team got the opportunity to host the second semi-final with Sydney Sixers.

The captain Mc Cullum is expected to open the match along with Jimmy Pierson who was not in good form. Brendon has to carry more load on his shoulders on account of the absence of Chris Lynn who was injured.

He is expected to keep his form for the rest of the season and keep his place in the final team with more progressive performance. Marnus, who got a chance to play in the squad failed to score well in consequent innings. Though he played well in Matador cup, his form is not very good. All the hopes of the team are on Ben Cutting who scored a quick 35 in the match against Renegades. This Caribbean player Samuel Badree, who is in a very good form is expected to bat at no.7.

Jack Wildermuth, Mark Sketekee, and Mitchell Swepson are the tailenders for the team. The Brisbane Heat team is expected to show its outstanding performance to defeat Sydney Sixers and confirm the berth to fight the final battle.

Moises Henrique’s team did well and finally entered the second semi-final.  It stood as no.3 in the points table after the poor performance in the previous season. The Sixers team got 10 points with 5 victories in the current BBL season.

The net run rate was very poor when compared to other semi-finalist teams, with -0.848. the performance of this team should be very well if it has to beat the Heat team in the second semi-final. The home advantage is on the side of Brisbane Heat.

The first victory in the first match made Sydney Sixers confident but the negative net run rate is the biggest drawback for this team. Openers Daniel Hughs and Michael Lumb are doing good since the beginning and are expected to do the same. Michael Lumb played from the middle of the season and scored 31,11 and 6 but his form is good.

Hughes scored 250 runs in 6 innings. Colin Munro and Nick Maddison are the key players in the top middle order. Jordan Silk, who played very well in the last two seasons is expected to repeat the same on the big day against Brisbane Heat.
