IPL 2018-Players Who Can Replace Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada, the South African pacer had a busy schedule this year regardless of injuries and unnecessary disputes. He stood as the man of the series in the test series against Australia. This speedster picked 23 wickets in the series. He suffered a stiff lower back due to hectic schedule earlier in the series against Australia. He is picked by the Delhi Daredevils team for IPL 2018. The franchise has to look for his replacement if he will be out of the tournament on account of injuries.Kagiso Rabada

  1. Tymal Mills

Tymal Mills, an English speedster could not justify his reward of Rs.12 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous IPL edition. But he has a good T20 record of picking  94 wickets off 85 games. He picked only 5 wickets from 5 matches in IPL 2017. Hailing from Yorkshire, he is capable of slamming the batsmen with accurate line and length. Though left unsold in the auctions, he is looking to grab the chance to replace Rabada in case he is ruled out of the tournament.

  1. Jason Holder

This 26-year old Caribbean skipper is a good option to replace Rabada. He did a mesmerizing performance in the World Cup qualifier matches recently. Jason Holder picked 15 wickets in the World cup qualifiers and scored two half-centuries with the best performance being 99* against Papua New Guinea. He has a poor IPL record with 5 wickets from 11 games in the previous edition. He scored 38 runs from 5 IPL innings at an average of 7.6.

  1. James Faulkner

This Australian pacer has an excellent start in his career and was at the heights till 2015. He lost his form and place in the team due to injuries. In IPL 2013, he had an adorable season with 28 wickets off 16 matches. In 2016 and 2017 IPL editions, he picked 8 wickets in 15 matches. Faulkner will be a good option to replace Rabada as he has good batting record as well. He expressed interest to take part in the current IPL season earlier.

  1. David Willey

He is one of the under-estimated performers coming to the shortest form of cricket. He played well in the ICC T20 world cup 2016 but did not have an impressive IPL record. He is a good hitter with 2097 runs off 147 T20 matches at the strike rate of 145.5. He picked 143 wickets as well. In spite of good performance, all the franchises ignored this 28-year- old player in the IPL auctions.

  1. Morne Morkel

He bid farewell to his international test-cricket career after the 4th test-match against Australia.  He is one of the cricketers who reached the 300-wicket milestone in the test matches. He had a memorable IPL season in 2012 and took 25 wickets to bag the purple cap for Delhi Daredevils. He picked 77 wickets from 70 IPL matches.
