Apart from the fact that both the teams lost their first games in the IPL, the positive things from the side of Delhi DareDevils is, the skipper Gautam Gambhir settled down faster to score his fifty and Chris Morris (27) and Rishabh Pant(28) supported the cause. KL Rahul could not make his impact in the first game. The team may make changes in the bowling department for their game against Rajasthan Royals.

Coming to the Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson made 49 runs off 42 balls but he did not get any support from his teammates to keep the flow of runs. The opponents, SRH managed to restrict the Rajasthan Royals to a score of 125-9.

Instead of omitting players for a single poor performance, both the franchises should learn to overcome the defeat from their past mistakes.  The Rajasthan Royals can try playing Rahul Tripathi in the middle-order keeping his performance in the previous edition for Rising Pune Supergiants. Stuart Binny will be another option for playing at No.3. D’Arcy Short may open this game as well and Rahane may join him. Coming to the bowling department, the team has 6 bowlers and Krishnappa Gautam or Shreyas Gopal might be replaced by the batsmen Aryaman Birla or Prasanth Chopra.

The Delhi Daredevils may replace Daniel Christian with Liam Plunkett. Plunkett entered the team as a substitute for Kagiso Rabada. On the other hand, Shabaaz Nadeem, one of the experienced players, may enter the squad and Rahul Tewatia might be ruled out of the match. Vijay Shankar may play for the team as a pace-bowling all-rounder or Prithwi Shaw may replace Rahul Tewatia.

Another good news for the team is the return of Glenn Maxwell into the team. Maxwell may probably replace Daniel Christian. Maxwell missed out the first game to attend his friend Aaron Finch’s wedding.

In the head to head competition, the Rajasthan Royals won 10 games out of 16 encounters and Delhi Daredevils won 6 games.  At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals won 3 games out of 4 and Delhi DareDevils managed to win a single game. In the last game, the Rajasthan Royals won by 9 wickets and Rahane made the score of unbeaten 63 runs in that game.
