The KXIP and RCB franchises look consistent on paper but could not lift the title since the inception of IPL. The Kings led by Ravichandran Ashwin registered their first victory against Delhi DareDevils and are about to play RCB in their second game. Let us have a preview of the game.


Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul

Mayank Agarwal made an impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored 1160 runs, 723 runs, and 250 runs in the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament respectively with a strike rate of 144.94. Though he did not do well in the first game, he is expected to do his best in this game.

KL Rahul

He did well in the Nidahas tournament and played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous edition. He is one of the rare players who did his hundreds in all the formats. He is in the best of his form in this tournament and hit the fastest fifty in the first game off 13 balls. He is acting as the wicket-keeper for the team as well. He is one of the players who handed the victory for the team in the previous game.

Middle order

Karun Nair, Aaron Finch, and Yuvraj Singh

Aaron Finch missed out the first game on account of his wedding and but he is one of the crucial players on the team. He did not do well for Gujarat Lions in the previous edition of IPL but he is expecting to bounce back in the current IPL. He is one of the versatile bowlers in the shortest form of cricket.

Karun Nair scored 379 runs off 9 games with a strike rate of 173.8 to top the list of highest scorers in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament and he is the second triple centurion in the Indian Test Cricket. He scored a fifty in the game against Delhi DareDevils.

Yuvraj returned to his home team this year and scored 12 runs in the first game. He is expected to hit a knock in the upcoming match.

Marcus Stoinis and Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the greatest spinners for India who made 300 wickets in the Test Cricket. He is named as the captain for KXIP as well.

Marcus Stoinis, the terrific Australian all-rounder entered into the IPL by his 146 runs against Auckland in the recent past. He scored 22 runs off 15 balls in the first game and bowled a single over.


Axar Patel and Mujeeb Zadran

Axar Patel was the first player retained by the franchise before the auctions. He is very expensive in the first game but in his IPL career, he picked 58 wickets off 59 games. He is expected to pick some wickets in the upcoming game.

Mujeeb Zadran, the 17-year old Afgan Player picked the wickets of Rishabh Pant and Colin Munro in the first IPL game. He is the youngest player of the franchise and is famous for his variant bowling actions.

Andrew Tye and Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma was a consistent player for the team since many editions of IPL. He is one of the bowling spearheads for the team and is expected to do well in the match against Delhi DareDevils. He is the only terrific pacer for the team which lacks pace bowlers in its arsenal.

Andrew Tye, the Australian pacer was picked by the franchise for a deal of $1.4 million by his attacking haul of 5-46 against England which is a match-winning performance. He did not do well in the first game and conceded 38 runs off 4 overs without a wicket.
