The Royal Challengers Bangalore will encounter Kings Xi Punjab in their home match today at Chinna Swamy stadium. Though both the teams look solid on paper, they did not lift the IPL title from the beginning. Out of 20 head to head encounters, the KXIP has registered its domination over the RCB by 12 victories. Out of six matches at Chinnaswamy stadium, they won four matches. Out of the previous 11 matches, the KXIP won 8 matches in total.Match Begins In:
Though the RCB seems strong with batsmen like Virat Kohli, Quinton De Kock, and AB De Villiers, the RCB has the poor record of losing all the five home games in the recent past held at Chinnaswamy stadium. The history of Chinnaswamy stadium was in favor of the visitors till date.
Another advantage to the visitors is, they have three Karnataka players in their squad, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, and Mayank Agarwal. This trio made an excellent performance for Karnataka in domestic tournaments. This is the rare consequence that RCB seems the weaker team on their home ground as they faced a loss against KKR in their first game.
Some of the threats to the RCB are poor bowling attack. Both the spinners Yuzwendra Chahal and Washington Sundar were thrashed by the opponents in the match against KKR. RCB pacers Umesh Yadav and Chris Woakes made an impact up to some extent but except De Villiers, the batsmen surrendered to KKR bowlers.
The visitors are looking more balanced with players like Chris Gayle. Karun Nair scored a decent fifty and KL Rahul scored the fastest fifty off 13 balls. Though the seamers of KXIP lack experience, Mujeeb ur Rahman is a player to watch out for. He took two wickets in the game against Delhi DareDevils. RCB’S top order may comprise of Brendon Mc Cullum, Quinton De Kock, and Virat Kohli.
Chinnaswamy stadium has the history of favor to the team who bowls first and toss is also an important factor to decide the result of the game.
