The Kolkata Knight Riders registered another victory on their home ground by 71 runs against Delhi DareDevils yesterday by the knocks of Andre Russell and Nitish Rana.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and chose to bat. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine opened the innings and they made a slow start due to the dismissal of Sunil Narine for a single.Nitish Rana and Andre Russell succeeded to make a strong stand to make the KKR score 200runs off 20 overs in the first Innings. Nitish Rana scored 59 runs and Andre Russell made 41 runs against Delhi in the 13th match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, in the Indian Premier League. KKR made a slow start, and Chris Lynn scored 31 runs and Robin Uthappa added 35 runs off 19 balls after Sunil Narine departed at the score of 1 run off 3 balls. Chris Lynn added to the score by frequent hits.
Andre Russell slammed the bowlers to support Nitish Rana. Rahul Tewatia from Delhi DareDevils made a decent bowling and restricted the opponents at the score of 200 runs in the death overs. Russell managed to hit 6 sixes to score 41 runs off 12 balls. Trent Boult managed to pick 2 wickets by conceding 29 runs along with a maiden over.
As a reply, Delhi DareDevils could not make a splendid start and Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell scored 43 and 47 runs respectively. Though the batsmen tried to rebuild the innings, they lacked proper stand and all the other batsmen sweated hard to make a double-digit score expect Glenn Maxwell and Rishabh Pant. The spinners from Kolkata Knight Riders restricted the Delhi DareDevils by picking wickets at regular intervals. The spin duo Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine picked three wickets each.
The duo of Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell added 62 runs for 4th wicket partnership. Coming to the KKR bowling, they managed to wind up the Delhi team for 129 runs. Kuldeep Yadav managed to get big wicket of Rishabh Pant. At one stage, the DD were at a critical position with the score of 86/4. They made their first hundred after 10 overs.
Glenn Maxwell scored 4 sixes and three fours off 22 balls to make 47 runs. Rishabh Pant scored 1 six and seven fours to make 43 runs off 26 balls. The innings of Delhi DareDevils ended by 14.2 overs.
Rahul Tewatia picked 3 wickets and conceded one run in the final over of KKR innings.
Nitish Rana was awarded the man of the match.
