Hardik Pandya played well in the match against CSK but was fit enough to play for the team. On the other hand, Jason Behrendorff was out of the tournament on account of injury. Earlier, the team has o replace Lasith Malinga and Lendi Simmons due to injuries in the previous editions.

  1. The poor form of Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was out of form since the series against South Africa except for some knocks against South Africa and Sri Lanka. But he holds a good record as the captain of the team of champions thrice. In this series, Rohit scored 44 runs at an average of 14.67. He is the perfect batsman who can bat at any position and is unstoppable once he settles in the crease. He is known for his perfect technique and elegance.

  1. Lack of back-up bowlers

Except for Mayank Markande and Jasprit Bumrah, all the other bowlers of the team seem faded out in this series. Mayank Markande was one of the purple cap aspirants from the team this year. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is successful in restricting the score of the opponents but failed to pick big wickets in the previous matches. Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, and Kieron Pollard failed to make their mark till now.

  1. Unable to handle critical moments

The Mumbai Indians lost three games in this season at smaller margins. They failed to encash the favorable conditions in the crucial situations. Especially in the game against SRH, they were close to the target but lost with a minor difference in the final over.

They seemed to bounce back in the third game till the 10th over but did not make a stand to clinch the victory in the game as the Delhi DareDevils managed to restrict their score. Fans are still expecting the comeback of the defending champions in this season.
