Chennai Super Kings Heads For The Victory Against Royal Challengers Bangalore


The Chennai Super Kings won the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore by fighting to chase a huge target of 206 runs till the last over. M S Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu contributed a good stand for this victory. Though Shane Watson departed earlier, Ambati Rayudu and Dhoni made the partnership to clinch the victory and top the points table. Dhoni made a bounce back by this game and stood as the player of the match. After the dismissal of Shane Watson, Rayudu and Suresh Raina tried to rebuild the innings but Raina got confused by the serious pace attack of Umesh Yadav. Shane Watson was dismissed by Pawan Negi. By dismissing Raina, Umesh Yadav got his 100th IPL wicket.  He stood as the fifth Indian to pick 100 IPL wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja came into the crease after the dismissal of Raina. But he could not add much to the score. Sam Billings followed him to the pavilion. Then, Dhoni entered the crease after Jadeja and Billings fell to Yuzwendra Chahal. By the time, the team needed 133 runs off 66 balls.

Dhoni came at No.6 and thrashed spinners Corey Anderson and Yuzwendra Chahal and pacer Pawan Negi by his boundaries and sixes. He supported the consistent player Ambati Rayudu who slammed 82 runs in this game. He clinched the orange cap by his splendid show. He made this score off 53 balls. Dhoni slammed his 19th IPL fifty at the strike rate of 180.

But unfortunately, Rayudu fell run out.  Dwayne Bravo replaced him and kept the flow of runs on. He slammed a four, a six and a single in the last over when the team needed 16 runs to win from a single over and Dhoni finished the game with a fiery six.

Earlier, Quinton De Kock and De Villiers made a good contribution to the Bangalore team’s score along with Mandeep Singh. Bravo and Tahir picked two wickets each.
