Ravichandran Ashwin, the captain of Kings XI was in full of praise of his bowlers after they won their game against Rajasthan Royals by unbeaten 84 runs slammed by KL Rahul and 3-wicket haul of Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Their batting order was dangling to score 153 runs but Rahul managed to make a decent score for the team.Ashwin Praises Bowlers For Punjab’s Win Against Rajasthan After a gap of a week, the Kings XI Punjab encountered Mumbai Indians on Friday and lost the game. They won their game against Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets. On the other hand, the debutant captain expressed his delight on the team’s victory despite nail-biting moments on Sunday. Speaking to the press, he said “We didn’t play for some time and we hadn’t got any points over the last two weeks. There was a bit of nervousness and it’s glad to get two points. This win is good because we were tested in our batting. One of our batsmen batted deep and that’s what we’ve been asking for. We didn’t need a tight game to chase it down. That box has been ticked.”

“Most of our wins have been set up the bowlers, 12 points have been set up by the bowlers. It’s pleasing. Good to know that one department is firing on all cylinders. We have options. Many of the batters are inexperienced and as the tournament goes on, I expect them to do better,”

“Didn’t come with any expectations, to be honest, didn’t come here to outdo myself or do anything special, just came here to gauge the situation and use the team in the best way possible. The most important thing for a captain is to rotate the bowlers well and pick the best combination possible and to get the batting order right. I think bowlers will get hit in the format, the guys who let me down will win me games tomorrow, that’s the only perspective I came here with. Thankfully all of them are going well,” he concluded.

Ashwin is the most unpredictable captain for this season and he appreciated his formidable bowling unit for gaining 12 points, to stay in the third position in the points table. While the Punjab team moved closer to the playoffs, the Rajasthan Royals slipped to the bottom position in the points table and it seems they are done in this season.
