After match-winning cameo of 84 runs earlier at Indore, KL Rahul said that “I want to get as many runs as I can in the powerplay. I think I haven’t converted those starts into big runs for the team; as an opening batsman that’s what is crucial. If you get off to a good start, even if you get the run rate down a bit in the middle overs, if you are set until the end you can do the most damage. That’s what I learned from the first leg (of the tournament) before we broke off for eight days.”

He said that he laid focus on improving his skill and make the most of his start during the seven-day break.

Chris Gayle is expecting to hit one more cameo to slam the opponent bowler Jofra Archer who dismissed him in the previous encounter.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Andrew Tye are the crucial bowlers for the Punjab team. They managed to stand as the joint-highest-wicket takers this season. Andrew Tye stood as the unpredictable bowler for the opposing hitters. He said that “There is no set plan; I am as random as I can because if you get too predictable in T20 cricket that’s where things can go a bit pear-shaped.”

Coming to the hosts, the team needs some reasonable scores from the skipper Rahane. Sanju Samson stood as the highest run-getter for the team with the score of 132 runs from six innings. His highest score is 92 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the previous game, Jos Buttler scored a decent fifty and Shreyas Gopal scored 36 runs.

Out of 16 face to face combats in IPL history, Rajasthan Royals won 9 games and the Punjab team won 6 games. At Jaipur, out of 6 games, Rajasthan won three games and Punjab team won 3 games. Rahane lost the toss 7 times of 9 games as the skipper. The average score of 4 games in the first innings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, is 158 runs.

The Rajasthan Royals host Chennai Super Kings on 11th May and the Kings XI Punjab will play Kolkata Knight Riders at Indore on 12th May.
