Within 48 hours of their combat at Indore, the KXIP and RR will lock their horns at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, in the 40th game of IPL 2018. The Rajasthan Royals won three games and lost six games of IPL 2018. They are at the bottom the points table.
Rajasthan Royals have to win all the games from now to make their way for playoffs. The Punjab team is in the third position of the points table with 12 points by winning six games. They are known for a fiery batting attack with KL Rahul and Chris Gayle who contributed half the team’s score off 9 games. The hitters of the team are frequently supported by other batsmen Mayank Agarwal, Andrew Tye, and Karun Nair at the need of the hour. The debutant captain Ashwin is happy with his team and is looking for more wickets this season.
Match Begins In:
After match-winning cameo of 84 runs earlier at Indore, KL Rahul said that “I want to get as many runs as I can in the powerplay. I think I haven’t converted those starts into big runs for the team; as an opening batsman that’s what is crucial. If you get off to a good start, even if you get the run rate down a bit in the middle overs, if you are set until the end you can do the most damage. That’s what I learned from the first leg (of the tournament) before we broke off for eight days.”
He said that he laid focus on improving his skill and make the most of his start during the seven-day break.
Chris Gayle is expecting to hit one more cameo to slam the opponent bowler Jofra Archer who dismissed him in the previous encounter.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Andrew Tye are the crucial bowlers for the Punjab team. They managed to stand as the joint-highest-wicket takers this season. Andrew Tye stood as the unpredictable bowler for the opposing hitters. He said that “There is no set plan; I am as random as I can because if you get too predictable in T20 cricket that’s where things can go a bit pear-shaped.”
Coming to the hosts, the team needs some reasonable scores from the skipper Rahane. Sanju Samson stood as the highest run-getter for the team with the score of 132 runs from six innings. His highest score is 92 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the previous game, Jos Buttler scored a decent fifty and Shreyas Gopal scored 36 runs.
Out of 16 face to face combats in IPL history, Rajasthan Royals won 9 games and the Punjab team won 6 games. At Jaipur, out of 6 games, Rajasthan won three games and Punjab team won 3 games. Rahane lost the toss 7 times of 9 games as the skipper. The average score of 4 games in the first innings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, is 158 runs.
The Rajasthan Royals host Chennai Super Kings on 11th May and the Kings XI Punjab will play Kolkata Knight Riders at Indore on 12th May.
