SRH Qualifies For Playoffs After Defeating Delhi

The Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to keep up the top position in the points table by winning their eighth game in IPL 2018. They scored 16 points and qualified for the playoffs by beating Delhi Daredevils by 9 wickets. The skipper Kane Williamson managed to hit 83 runs to make a stand of 173 runs for the winning partnership. He scored 83*by scoring 8 fours and 2 sixes. He made his sixth half-century in this IPL season and crept to second place in the list of Orange Cap aspirants by scoring 493 runs off 10 games. He played the captain innings in this match.

This is the first highest run-chase for the Sunrisers team this season. The pair of Williamson and Dhawan left no stone unturned to chase a boundary or run between the wickets to reach the winning target with seven balls left.

Harshal Patel is the only bowler to pick one wicket from Delhi Daredevils. By the defeat in this game, Delhi Daredevils lost its hopes to reach the playoffs.

This is Pant’s maiden T20 century. He picked the Orange cap by his knock by scoring 521 runs in total in this series to date. He scored 128* off 63 balls. This is the highest score made by an individual in this IPL edition. Another incredible record he achieved by his score is, he stood as the youngest player to score 1000 runs in IPL. From SRH, Siddharth Kaul stood as the most expensive bowler to concede 48 runs from 4 overs.
