IPL is a game of uncertainty. Some of the costliest buys prove to be disastrous sometimes. Let us take a look at some of the star players who did a flop show in the current IPL and may lose their places in the next season.
- Kieron Pollard
This Caribbean player was picked by the Mumbai Indians this year. He is an integral part of the team since many seasons. Surprisingly, Chris Gayle was released by the RCB this year and for KXIP, he is doing wonders. Letting go Pollard may give Mumbai Indians the same experience, said some experts. But for now, he did very poorly for the team, being an all-rounder.
- Glenn Maxwell
He was picked by Delhi Daredevils for a whopping sum of Rs.9 crore for the current edition. He is a good hitter and this made him one of the costliest buys this year. This Australian bowler is famous for delivering big shots however the bowling style may be. He scored 17, 13,47,4, 12, 27, and 6 off seven games he played in the current edition. He did not repay his reward with the bat and may lose his place in the franchise by the next edition. He may not get an opportunity to play for the team as the league stage is nearing the end but if he makes some convincing score, he is likely to be retained by the team for the next season.
- David Miller
David Miller was one of the players who made his IPL debut for KXIP and still playing for the team. In the current edition, he played only two games for the team and for now, the franchise is happy with the current batting line-up and he may not get a chance to prove his worth for the next time. All he needs is an opportunity to hit a big knock and cement his position in the team. But as the time for playoffs is nearing, he may not get a call from the franchise to play for next edition.
