He is one of the popular players of England. He is the captain of England team for limited overs format. He represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Kings XI Punjab. He was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and did not get a chance to play for the team at that time. He represented title-clinching team of Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. He is out of form since three IPL seasons from 2015-2017. He played for KXIP in 2017 and scored 65 runs off 4 games. He was picked by the franchise for a sum of Rs.2 crore. Out of 52 IPL games, he managed to score 854 runs at a strike rate of 121.13. He scored four fifties and picked 24 catches in IPL.

He is one of the greatest all-rounders of his time for New Zealand. He represented four teams of IPL. He played for Pune Warriors India, Kings XI Punjab, Gujarat Lions, and Rajasthan Royals. His outing for Rajasthan Royals was a great one.  He played for 15 matches for Gujarat Lions and picked only 8 wickets. He scored 527 runs and picked 59 wickets out of 60 IPL matches. His best performance was 5/16 at an economy rate of 8.69. He is the only bowler to pick 5-wickets in a single game twice in the history of IPL.

He represented Kings XI Punjab in the inaugural edition of IPL and played for the franchise for a decade. He picked orange cap by playing 11 games and scoring 616 runs. He is a solid top-order batsman and scored 2477 runs off 71 games at the strike rate of 132.74. He was unsold for this season and base-price of his 34-year old batsman was Rs.1.5 crore.

He is one of the cricketers who represented one of the most successful sides of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. This Caribbean player represented Deccan Chargers and Gujarat Lions, currently dissolved franchises.  This hitter scored 2103 runs off 76 IPL games at a strike rate of 134.20 and his best score being 87*. This medium pacer picked 19 wickets at an economy rate of 9.29. He was left unsold for this season and his base price was Rs.1 crore.
