Due to some constraints, some players settled as bench warmers in this IPL season. Let us take a look at some of them.
- Aniket Choudhary
He was bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore this year. Though the team suffered a lot due to lack of good pacers, he did not get a chance to prove himself this season.
- Rahul Chahar
He is the brother of Deepak Chahar, the paceman for Chennai Super Kings in this season. This spinner did not get a chance though he was picked by Mumbai Indians. He was expected to replace Mayank Markande.
- R Vinay Kumar
He played two games for Kolkata Knight Riders in this season. He was very expensive and was thrashed by 19 runs off 5 balls in the game against Chennai Super Kings. Hence, he was replaced by the impressive pacer Prasidh Krishna.
- Chris Jordan
He played only one game in this season and conceded 31 runs off 4 overs without picking a wicket. He hopes to do better in the next season.
- Gurukeerath Singh Mann
This Punjabi bowler was picked by Delhi Daredevils but did not play a single game in this season. He was replaced by Vijay Shankar. If he was included in the team, he would replace Glenn Maxwell and would make his mark in the tournament.
- Mohammed Nabi
He was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad but played only two matches. He was replaced by Rashid Khan. This budding player hopes for the best in the upcoming years.
- Saurabh Tiwary
He was picked by one or two franchises since 2011. In 2018, he was picked by Mumbai Indians but was not featured in a single game. This left-hander may not be seen in the next IPL.
- Ishank Jaggi
This Jharkhand cricketer was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders but could not play even one game in this season. But this right-handed batsman expects to be in the limelight in the next season.
- Naman Ojha
This Madhya Pradesh cricketer was picked by Delhi Daredevils for IPL 2018. But Rishabh Pant was given an opportunity instead of this batsman-wicketkeeper. Naman played only one game in this season.
- Cameron Delport
Cameron Delport was the part of Kolkata Knight Riders in this season. The Kolkata Knight Riders were one of the biggest squads this year. As they found the right set of players in the initial stage, the KKR did not use his services.
- Murali Vijay
He was one of the outstanding openers for Chennai Super Kings. He did great as an opener in almost all the seasons of IPL. Though he was bought for Rs.2 crore, the Chennai Super Kings used the services of Faf Du Plessis, Sam Billings, and Shane Watson in the top order. He played only one game in this season.
