KL Rahul To Take No.4 Spot In ODIs


KL Rahul stood as the highest scorer for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018. He slammed 613 runs off 13 games. This Canarese batsman is known for his elegant batting style. Though he could not win the title for his team, IPL provided a platform to prove his worth in the ODI team. He expressed optimism in strengthening his position in the team and spoke willingly to bat at no.4 for the side.kl-rahulHe spoke to the press at Chandigarh during an event and said that his dream is to play for the team in the World cup 2019. Team India reportedly tried nearly 10 players for No.4 batsmen since the past series but experts say that KL Rahul would be the right one.

Speaking to Times of India, KL Rahul said that “My childhood dream is to play the World Cup and if the team management wants me to bat No 4, I am ready to do it because nothing is bigger than playing for India. I hope to continue with my recent form in ODIs too,”

“Right now my aim is to score runs for my country and it doesn’t matter if it is coming as an opener or in the middle order. As long as I am performing these things don’t matter but the final decision is taken by the team management. If they want me to bat at No 4, then I am up for the challenge,”

The Afghanistan team includes fiery bowlers like Mujeeb Zadran and Rashid Khan. In addition, the bowling spearheads in their arsenal are the spinner Zaheer Khan and left arm pacer Hamza Hotak. KL Rahul said that his focus is completely about the single test match against Afghanistan and there is a lot of time remaining for the series against England.

He said “No doubt they are a very talented squad with some really good spinners. That’s their strength but we will play to our strength.”
