Bangladesh shocked Indian women’s cricket team in a thrilling game by 7 wickets. They registered their second victory in the Asia cup yesterday. They were at a critical position with 49/3 in 8 overs but bounced back to win the game. The unbeaten partnership of Fargana Hoque and Rumana Ahmed of 93 runs gave a solid reply to Indian bowlers and helped to chase 142 runs.
Bangladesh slammed Jhulan Goswami with 10runs in one over and then 12 runs in the over of Rajeshwari Gaykwad. In 18th over they slammed 6 runs in the bowling of Anjula Patil. They needed 32 runs off 4 overs but managed to thrash the Indian bowlers to reach their target with 2 balls remaining. The Indians tried seven bowlers but could not break the stand of Fargana and Rumana.
Rajeswari picked the first wicket for India by dismissing Ayasha Rahman for 12 runs. Pooja Vastrakar picked the wicket of Shamima Sultana when her score was 33 runs. Nirgana Sultana went back to the pavilion at the score of 1 run in the spell of Poonam Yadav.
India won the toss and chose to bat. They made a poor start. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 42 runs and Deepti Sharma scored 32 runs. They together made the stand of 50 runs for the 4th wicket. Mona Meshram scored 14 runs off 12 balls. However, India could not make a potential total and ended their innings at 141 runs. Out of this score, 10 were extras.
