Bangladesh Wins Maiden Women’s Asia Cup Defending Against India

Harmanpreet came to bowl in the place of Shikha Pandey who was injured. She conceded 10 runs of 18th over when Bangladesh needed 23 runs. In the 19th over, Deepti Sharma conceded only 4 runs. In the final over, Harmanpreet came to bowl to defend 9 runs.

When Sanijda Islam tried to hit the glory shot in the last over when the team needed 3 runs off 3 balls. But she was caught by Veda Krishnamurthy. Rumana Ahmed came to strike after Sanijda Islam but she was run out in the hands of Harmanpreet Kaur.

Jahanara came to strike and ran for a single. To save her life, she ran faster and achieved another run. Thus, Bangladesh won the game with the last ball.

The Bangladeshis had a good start by slamming 33 runs from the powerplays. Then, Poonam Yadav came to bowl and managed to pick the wickets of the openers in two consecutive balls. She picked the wickets of Shamima Sultana and Ayasha Rahman(17).

Then Poonam Yadav dismissed Fargana and Nigar Sultana. Fargana tried for a sweep shot and lost her wicket and Nigar Sultana was caught out by Taniya Bhatia. Jhulan Goswami came to bowling in the 13th over and bowled economically.
