The IPL 2018 has witnessed budding Indian players like Rishabh Pant, Prithwi Shaw, and KL Rahul. Some players like Ravindra Jadeja, who had been the core players since the inception of IPL might lose their places in the Indian team due to poor performance in IPL 2018. Let us take a look at some of such players.
- Gautam Gambhir
His transfer from Delhi Daredevils to Kolkata Knight Riders turned to be a disastrous move. He lost his captain seat as well as the place in the second half of the tournament due to his pathetic performance for Delhi Daredevils. Once, he was a hero of the World cup winning teams in 2007 and 2011. He scored some cameos in T20 world cup 2007 and scored 97 runs in the World Cup final 2011 against Sri Lanka. He is undoubtedly one of the best openers for India but could not continue in the team with his poor figures in the recent past.
- Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj is one of the legendary players of Indian cricket who had a good cricket career even after surviving from cancer. He is one of the heroes of limited overs cricket. He is one of the crucial cricketers in the World cup winning squads in T20 World cup 2007 and ICC World cup 2011. He last played for India in 2017 after he was out of the team in 2015. He made a decent performance but could not make a comeback due to poor fitness. He was selected by Kings XI Punjab for IPL 2018 but was dropped from the team due to poor performance. His entry into the World Cup squad 2019 fell into doubt with this IPL.
- Ravindra Jadeja
This chinaman was one of the crucial players of Chennai Super Kings. Except in one or two games, he did not do well this year. He is struggling to make some knocks since a couple of years and he played for the last time in 2017 for limited overs team. India acquired some budding spinners like Yuzwendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mayank Markande, and Washington Sundar in this duration. Other spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Akshar Patel picked some crucial wickets but Jadeja may not get a chance to play in the World cup 2019 due to his inconsistent performances in the recent past.
