Sharma and Bumrah laid the base to the team’s victory by taking two wickets each in the beginning and Shami succeeded to collapse the South African innings by five-wicket haul at the end.

Though the Safaris seemed to near the victory by century partnership of Hashim Amla and Dean Elgar, the fall of the wickets that began with the dismissal of Amla cannot be stopped till the end of the Innings.

After Amla’s dismissal at his score of 52 runs, the South African batting order was wind up within 53 runs thereafter when they are halfway to reach the goal of scoring 241 runs for their victory.Elgar, who scored  86 off 240 balls fought alone to rebuild the innings but in vain.

Speaking about their victory, captain Kohli said,”This is one of our sweetest wins. This day will be remembered for a long time for us as a team.”

“we already had the belief but now we have the result to back that as well.

“South Africa played better than us in the first two games so they deserved to win the series but we deserved to win this game. But at many moments in the first two games, we put them under the pressure.”

“We are the number one team in the World and we certainly played like that today.”

The Safari team captain Plessis claimed the series win but agreed that the Indians made their best to win the third test.

He said, “It’s fantastic to win the series against a really good team. Credit to India for playing some really good cricket in all three tests.”

Though the hosts sweated hard to make a century partnership in 50 overs, the third century partnership for the team in the series, the dismissal of DeVilliers and Amla before tea break turned the tables.

Though DeVilliers made a confident start, he could not stand long in the crease and lost his wicket to Bumrah.
