England made the highest ODI total in the history by breaking own record of 444 runs against Pakistan 2 years ago. They made this massive score of 481 runs at Nottingham in the third ODI against Australia yesterday.
The openers Jason Roy(82) and Jonny Bairstow(139) added 159 runs for the opening stand. Alex Hales continued the momentum after the dismissal of Jason Roy by slamming 147. He was bowled by Jhye Richardson. The captain of England, Eoin Morgan stood as the highest scorer for England in ODIs by slamming 67 runs off 30 balls. He surpassed the record of Ian Bell and slammed his fifty of 21 balls.
But the middle order batsmen could not continue the flow of runs and lost wickets faster. They made only 10 runs in this situation. The Australians tried 8 bowlers but none could make a big impact on the opponents. Richardson bowled a maiden over but conceded 92 runs. Andrew Tye conceded 100 runs off his 9 overs and Marcus Stoinis gave away 85 runs in his 8 overs.
The England team was at the edge of the victory in this series as they slammed a mammoth-like score in the third ODI and are confident of winning the third consecutive ODI out of five ODI series.
England 481/6, Jason Roy 82, Jonny Bairstow 139, Alex Hales 147, and Eoin Morgan 67
Jhye Richardson 3/92
