Players Who Can Be Kings XI Punjab Captain In IPL 2018

Except reaching the final in 2014 and semifinals in 2008, Kings Eleven Punjab did not make any milestones in the IPL and is notorious for immature performance and earlier exit in the rest of the seasons.

Though the team composition is good and can perform well, the experienced players seem they are not doing justice to the team with all their capabilities. This team makes very fewer changes in the crucial group of players but changes its leader every season.

Here are some of the players who have the competency to lead the team and make wonders to cruise the team to victory. These four players are expected to have the potential to earn the tournament for IPL season 2018.

  1. Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh was the captain of the Kings Eleven Punjab in the inaugural season. In his leadership, the team finished the first stage and reached the knockout stage. But it was not a great performance that suits his competency.

This local lad has fewer chances of getting the captaincy in this season. His performance was not up to the mark in the inaugural season 2008 and he was out of the captaincy and he was about to conclude his career and hence, the chances of his captaincy are less.

  1. Ravichandran Aswin

He was selected for the CSK team in 2009 but played only two matches in that spell. In the consecutive year, he made an outstanding performance by picking 13 wickets in this season.

He had to end his long 9-year relationship with the CSK franchise as the Punjab franchise got him for Rs. 7.6 crores.

Ashwin led the Tamil Nadu team in the national level cricket and led the Dindigul Dragons team in TPL.

  1. Aaron Finch

Chris Gayle and Aaron Finch made a formidable base to KXIP top order. The franchise is not new to offer captaincy to the overseas players. If the franchise opts to appoint Finch as the captain, it would not be a wrong choice. He is in a very good form and did very great in the series against England when he played for Australia.

He led the Melbourne Renegades team in the Big Bash League. He was the national Captain in the Australian T20 format. He also led the Victoria Bushrangers team in the Champions League.

  1. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is an excellent batsman for this franchise.  He missed the opportunity of playing for this franchise last year due to the shoulder injury but is expected to lead the team for the current season.

He got a huge remuneration of rupees 11 crores for playing for this franchise. The team is expecting him to be their full-time wicketkeeper and they hope to offer captaincy for this Karnataka player.

He seems to be the captain of the team for this season but the only obstacle is his fitness. If he got injured by any consequences, he has to leave the team.
