Jasprit Bumrah was out of the squad for series against England due to injury on his left thumb. He injured his left thumb in the last game against Ireland. He sustained an injury in the last ball of the last spell. This was a massive blow for team India ahead of series against England.
Deepak Chahar was playing for India A and he was called on for the national team to replace Bumrah. He may continue in T20Is as well as ODIs. He stood as the highest wicket-taker for India A in the tri-series against England Lions in the 50-over format.
He picked seven wickets at an average of 12.71 with economy above4.44. He made a splendid performance for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. His economy rate in that series was above 7.28. Apart from Washington Sundar, Bumrah is another player to miss out the tournament. Sundar missed out the tournament due to an ankle injury.
He will be replaced by Akshar Patel in ODis and Krunal Pandya in T20Is. They are playing for India A currently. They represented KXIP and MI in IPL 2018.
