India will encounter England in a three T20I series from today. They will play their first T20I today at Manchester. India is missing out one of their crucial bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah. He will be replaced by Deepak Chahar. Bumrah sustained an injury on his thumb in the second T20I against Ireland earlier. This is a massive blow for team India as they were a consistent team which included Bumrah earlier.
Both the teams were at the heights of the spirits with India winning the one-off test against Afghanistan and the two T20I series against Ireland with 1-0 and 2-0 respectively and England won the ODI series against Australia by whitewash with a lead of 5-0 and a single T20I series with 1-0.
Since Indians played a long IPL season, there is no doubt about their practice. Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, and Ben Stokes were some of the crucial players from England who played IPL. So, England players were well acquainted with handling the Indian attack.
England is one of the consistent teams in the World and it has a bunch of best batsmen in their team. Jos Buttler, who can play at any position of the line-up stood as an outstanding batsman for Rajasthan Royals. He is in his best of the form and seems dangerous for the Indian bowlers.
Other players like Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow, Alex Hales, and Joe Root seem fiery to face Indian spinners with their previous experiences. England’s bowling attack may include Moeen Ali, Liam Plunkett, and Chris Jordan. Tom Curran may replace Adil Rashid. David Willey may also play for the team if England needs to play a medium pacer.
Indian bowling attack includes both the wrist spinners Yuzwendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Deepak Chahar is about to replace Jasprit Bumrah and if the team needs another pacer, Siddharth Kaul or Umesh Yadav will fill the void. Umesh Yadav attracted many eyes by his performance for Royal Challengers Bangalore this year and Siddharth Kaul did consistently for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL this year. However, the probability of playing Umesh Yadav is more in the current situation and he may be backed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma will play in the top order as usual and MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, and Manish Pandey will bat in the middle-order. KL Rahul may play as an opener or go on in the middle order. Hardik Pandya, who did not hit many cameos up to the expectations, may take the seat of all-rounder instead of Krunal Pandya for the day.
England and India were equally sided with fiery hitters but India seems strong when it comes to the bowling attack. Whoever may bat first, the predicted score may near 220 runs.
