India lost their second ODI to the hosts at the Lords by the massive difference of 86 runs. They are aiming to avenge their defeat at Headingley tomorrow. Indians want to repair the flaws in their side and register a memorable victory to attain the top position in the ODI ratings. This seems a herculean task for the visitors to beat one of the strongest sides in the world, but they rely on the in-form top order including openers Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and the skipper Virat Kohli.
Joe Root’s hundred guided England to level the three ODI series by 1-1. He made a bounce back by this ton after poor performances for a couple of weeks. He made his 12th ODI century and expects to play in his ruthless style to trouble the visitors along with the top order in the team, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, and Jos Buttler.
Captain Eoin Morgan also expects to slam the Indians to clinch the title by the morale attained by the victory in the second ODI. Ben Stokes expects to continue the momentum created by the top order. Liam Plunkett is entrusted with the death bowling along with Sam Curran and Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid will shoulder the spin-bowling department.
Coming to the Indian side, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni will play in the middle order. But the poor form of MS Dhoni is a matter of concern for the men in blue. The spin twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzwendra Chahal are expected to collapse the batting line-up of the hosts and Hardik Pandya and Umesh Yadav will take care of the pace bowling department. Siddharth Kaul may bowl as an additional speedster. Both the teams intend to clinch the title to attain the top position in the ICC ODI ratings.
