New Zealand Cricket Association NZC announced the schedule for double-header series with India to be held in January 2019. The series includes men and women cricket series. Virat Kohli’s team will face the black caps in five ODIs and three T20Is on their home soil and the Indian women’s cricket team will play three ODIs and three T20Is with New Zealand women team.
The men’s and women’s ODIs will be played in consecutive days at Napier, Mt Maunganui and Hamilton and the T20Is will be played between men’s and women’s cricket teams at Wellington, Hamilton, and Auckland on consecutive days.
On the other hand, India A will play New Zealand A in three four-day matches at Mt. Maunganui, Seddon Park, and Cobham Oval and three one-dayers at Bay Oval.
In addition to fixtures with India, New Zealand will have a busy summer series with visits of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka teams. The black caps will play Sri Lanka for two test matches and three ODIs and a single T20I. One of the matches is the boxing day test at Christ church in December.
In earlier February, Bangladesh will play three ODIs and three test matches at Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch.
In a press release, the NZC chief operating authority Anthony Crummy said that “We think it’s another strong schedule in which we’ve continued the philosophy of taking international cricket to some of our most popular boutique grounds over the school holiday period,”
“It’s exciting to have the India men’s and women’s team here. The men are currently ranked No.2 in ODIs and T20s – and the women arrive as ICC Cricket World Cup finalists. It’s also healthy to be driving greater exposure and appeal in the women’s game. All six of the White Ferns’ fixtures will be televised live for the first time in New Zealand history.” He explained about the busy schedule of the New Zealand cricket team next summer.
