Sam Curran did an impressive performance with both the ball and the bat and slammed a decent score to guide England to a score of 180 runs from a critical step of 87/7. India is determined to avenge the loss in the first test and level the series by winning the second test at Lord’s to be commenced today.
To encounter the 20-year old left-arm pacer Sam Curran, the Indian batsmen practiced along with Arjun Tendulkar in the nets. Arjun Tendulkar is the son of the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. He made his U19 debut recently and helped India U19 to win against Sri Lanka youth team and clinched the test by picking a decent number of wickets. He has the experience of playing Lord’s and worked for net practice for women’s cricket team before the world cup.
Sam Curran managed to pick 4 wickets by conceding 74 runs in the first test match in the first innings, by dismissing Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, and KL Rahul within the space of eight deliveries. Later he managed to pick the wicket of Hardik Pandya. His performance collapsed the Indian innings from 50/0 to 59/3 in the first innings.
Arjun Tendulkar trains at the Lords’ Indore cricket stadium. He spent a remarkable time with Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli practicing in the nets. He participated in the net practice of Indian team in the series against New Zealand to help them in the nets in October 2017 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. He is known to spin the deliveries at the speed of 135 km/h and scared Jonny Bairstow earlier during the practice sessions.
India will play the second test match at Lord’s against England in the five-game series. Jasprit Bumrah missed out the match due to injury woes and there were no considerable changes in the Indian squad.
