Return of Ben Stokes Poses A Dilemma For Selectors-Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler said that the return of Ben Stokes after court trial is in the hands of selectors. England has to face India in the third test at Trent Bridge on 18th August 2018. Ben Stokes has missed out the second test match at Lord’s test due to the trial on account of nightclub affray.Ben-StokesChris Woakes replaced Ben Stokes in the second test match against India and won the player of the match award by his impressive performance. In this context, Jos Buttler said that he could not wait to see Ben Stokes back into the team.  The Wales Cricket Board and English Cricket Board are trying hard to fix the final XI and choose one all-rounder from Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes.

Jos Buttler wrote in his blog that “It will be a tough selection for the third Test at Trent Bridge,

“Sam Curran and Chris Woakes have won the Man of the Match awards in the first two Tests and, with Ben Stokes coming back into the squad, it will be a difficult decision for the coach and captain.”

“Stokes walks into most teams around the world and so, back available, I’m sure he will be one of the first names on the team sheet. I’m looking forward to seeing him joining us back at training,”

“It has been a difficult 10 or 11 months for him, I’m sure, but it’s important for him that he can get back to being the amazing cricketer we know and love.”

Ben Stokes did a splendid performance in the first test match against India at Edgbaston by picking a decent number of wickets. Jos Buttler said that the presence of Ben Stokes is the need of the hour though it is tough to pick one from two competent players and Ben Stokes will be a crucial player for the team since the team is aiming to clinch the test series.
