Indians are struggling a lot to survive in the five-test series against England. They tried different combinations in the first two test matches but could not give a tough fight in the Lord’s test. They will face England in the third test at Trent Bridge. Here are some players from India for whom the third test will be the last chance.murali vijay

  1. Murali Vijay

A decade ago, this guy from Tamil Nadu made an impressive performance in England tour as an opener. He is the most dependable batsman in 2014 for India as well. His average was 39.33 in the Lord’s test which was very disappointing. Hence, he should do well to cement his position in the team.

  1. Dinesh Karthik

He did a match-winning performance in the Nidahas tournament earlier this year and led the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He is one of the crucial players in the test team for India in 2008. But in the previous tests, he scored 0,20, and 1,0 at Edgbaston and Lord’s respectively. His highest score is 82 against England Lions for India A in the recent past. Hence, he should prove himself as the keeper batsman to strengthen his position in the rest of the two tests.

  1. Ajinkya Rahane

He is the vice-captain for the test team and was one of the impressive batsmen for India when it comes to the technique. He made a few cameos for India A and the warm-up match against Essex. He did a century in the Lord’s test in 2014 and was an experienced batsman who was familiar with the conditions of England. He has to do well in the third test to regain his past glory and stand in the squad of the upcoming series for India.
