Afghanistan registered a decent victory to clinch the series by 81 runs in the second T20I against Ireland. This is a three T20I series. This game took place at Bready Cricket Club, Magheramason, Bready. Ireland batted first and scored 160 off 20 overs by losing 8 wickets.
Afghanistan lost Mohammed Shahzad earlier and Samiullah Shenwari earlier but the captain Ashgar Stanikzai played strong innings by securing his wicket till 16th over. Zazai played flamboyant innings by slamming 82 runs in 54 balls with 6 fours and 7 sixes. Boyd Rankin picked his wicket then.
Mohammed Nabi scored 12 runs off 5 balls Najibullah Zadran scored 20 runs off 10 balls. From the last two overs, 13 runs were scored. Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked 3wickets and Rashid Khan picked four wickets. Mujeeb ur Rahman picked the wickets of William Porterfield and Garry Wilson. They scored 33 runs and 22 runs respectively. Zazai and Stanikzai made a strong stand of 116 runs from 79 balls for Afghanistan.
Though Ireland maintained a run rate of 6.33 per over, they were bowled out for 79. From the Irish side, Rankin picked two wickets and Chase took 3 three wickets. But they could not control the flow of runs by the Afghans by solid stands of the Afghan Skipper Stanikzai and Hazratullah Zazai.
