Most of the criticism raised about the lack of practice to the Indian team before the commencement of series against England. However, the head coach revealed that he did not receive any communication from the BCCI after reviewing of the loss in the test series. He said that he is moving to India after a positive mindset even after the loss of series against England.

Virat Kohli expressed dissatisfaction after a loss against England while speaking to the legendary cricketer Michael Holding. He felt that India lost the series due to the limited number of warm-up matches. He said that the team played most of the poor quality opponents and in poor quality grounds and hence they lacked the practice to face the strong contestants like England.

Warm up matches are to raise the intensity of practice and intense physical training for players for crucial series. The Indian cricketers were trolled for skipping the practice matches before the series against South Africa this January.

However, coach Ravishastri backed his team saying that Indian team has a tight cricket schedule and plays all formats of cricket throughout the year which can fill the vacuum of lack of warm-up matches before every series. Indians will play Australia in the test series from 6th December and they have only a gap of 10 days to commence the series after flying to Australia on 21st November. Shastri is facing huge criticism for poor team compositions and the loss of test series against England. He struck off all the criticism in this context and said that he can’t meddle with the opinions of the fans.

India will play the Asia cup from 15th September. The important one among this games is on 19th September, the game against Pakistan. Keeping the series against Australia in mind, Virat Kohli was rested for this series and Rohit Sharma will lead the team for Asia cup.
