Players Who Might Not Be in Squad For West Indies Series

West Indies will visit India within a few days and India is struggling to pick the squad for the upcoming test series. Here are some of the players who might not be picked by the selectors to play West Indies.

  1. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan is one of the best players for India in the limited overs format and one cannot underrate his contributions to the team in the need of the hour. He did not do well in the test series against England. He finished the series with 162 runs from four matches and struggled to face Stuart Board and James Anderson. He didn’t succeed to attack pacers on bouncy pitches of England.

  1. Murali Vijay

He is one of the batsmen who stood as top openers for India in the tests earlier but lost his form in the test series against England though he could do well for India A. He scored 76 runs from four innings and was dropped for the third test. He is known as the batsman with perfect technique but due to poor performances, he might lose his place to Mayank Agarwal or Prithwi Shaw.

  1. Dinesh Karthik

Recently he did well for India A. Due to injury woes of Wriddhiman Saha, he was provided an opportunity to play for the team for tests but could not make a good use of the chance. He could not do well but Wriddhiman’s recovery takes time. If selectors want to replace him, KS Bharat is the option for them. He scored only 21 runs from four matches and was dismissed at 0 on two occasions.

  1. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is one of the splendid all-rounders for India. He made decent scores in the need of the hour and picked 10 wickets and scored 162 runs from four games. He is one of the regular members of the squad and keeping in mind his fitness and workload, Ashwin might replace him for the home series against West Indies.

  1. Ishant Sharma

He made a decent performance for the test series against England. He is one of the senior pacers in the test format. He picked 18 wickets from five games against England. He might be rested for the home series of tests keeping his heavy workload and series against Australia in December.
