He made a promising start in his test debut by slamming 230 runs from the tests against West Indies. He is one of the successful U19 captains and hopes to keep on his performance in the long run. Earlier, the likes of Mohammed Kaif won the U19 World cup but could not succeed in the international career. He expects to rewrite the history and become the torch bearer for the future team.

He slammed 134, 70, and 33 runs from the test series against West Indies and stood as the youngest player to achieve man of the series award.
