India needs to tour Australia for a long series this December. India needs to play Australia in five tests this December. They showed their dominance by regaining the no.1 position in the test rankings by winning against West Indies by 2-0 in the test series. Let us take a look at some players whose poor form might affect the winning chances of India.
- Cheteshwar Pujara
He is one of the test specialists for the team. He made some magical performances in the recent series but is fighting a poor form despite performing well in subcontinent series. Though he fought for the team on crucial occasions, he did not have an impressive record in Australia.
- Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya did impressively in the England series but was out of the team due to injury woes. Except in Trent Bridge, he could not do well with both the bat and the ball. Due to the injury, he sustained in Asia cup, he was out of the West Indies series. He was troubled due to poor batting techniques in England though he did well as a seamer. He needs time to cope up with Australian conditions.
- Ajinkya Rahane
Though he was known as the batsman with the perfect technique, he did poorly in the England series except for a few knocks for India A. He tried to redeem against West Indies but he could not slam big scores at the need of the hour. He was considered as one of the successful batsmen overseas but needs to improve to strengthen his position in the Indian squad.
- KL Rahul
Lokesh Rahul is one of the crucial top order batsmen for India in the test format. Except a hundred in the oval, he struggled to score big in England and is still struggling to regain his form. He failed to score a fifty in the four tests against England. Though he was called as the explicit batsman by the experts, a poor shot selection is an important issue that stops him from slamming big scores. He is under pressure for the first test series against Australia on their home ground though he was called as the test specialist.
