5 Players who got injured during their debut match


Shardul Thakur was one of the consistent performers for India. He made his test debut in the game against West Indies at Hyderabad. But after bowling just 10 deliveries, he was prone to the groin injury. He was out of the team yesterday and might not play his debut game. Here are some of the players who got injured in their debut game. Some players resumed the game after injury woes but some were faded away.

This English pacer got an opportunity to play in the Ashes series in 2017-18. He managed to dismiss the Australian skipper Steve Smith in his debut match and grabbed the attention of the crowd. But the bouncer from Pat Cummins hit his ribs and he was out of the team in the debut game.

He played for Ireland in his initial days of career. In 2014, he got the opportunity to play for England in Ashes and was out of the field twice due to a hamstring injury. He never played for England again but later played for Ireland and stood like the man who played for two countries in tests in 25 years.

He was the nephew of Inzamam Ul Haq, former Pakistani cricketer, and the current national chief selector. He made his test debut in the inaugural match of Ireland. In that game, while running for a single, he collided with Niall O Brien and fell down on the ground till he got the medical attention. Later he was got out at 7 runs. In the second innings, he contributed 74 runs for Pakistan to hand a victory by 5 wickets, an explicit performance by a debutant.
