IPL 2019: A complete List of Players Retained By Franchisee

There were a lot of changes in the IPL teams on the deadline day of transfers. Nearly 50 players were transferred from one team to other in this season. The auction is expected to take place next month and hence there are major changes in the big names in each of the teams. There were major changes like shifting of Quinton De Kock from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Mumbai Indians, Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad to Delhi Daredevils on the exchange of three crucial players and Mandeep Singh was called by RCB in exchange of Marcus Stoinis. Sunrisers Hyderabad released Shikhar Dhawan in exchange to three star players.

Mumbai Indians

The three-time champions called Quinton De Kock and released 10 players including 6 foreign players. They retained players like Rohit Sharma, Mayank Markande and released JP Duminy,  Akila Dananjaya, Pat Cummins, and Mustafizur Rahman. Rohit Sharma will be the captain for the team in this season also.

Delhi Daredevils

Gautam Gambhir was released from the auction due to poor performance and he stepped down as the captain after consequential defeats in IPL 2018 making way to Shreyas Iyer. Naman Ojha, Mohammed Shami, and Glenn Maxwell were also released from the franchise for this season.

Chennai Super Kings

The defending champions did not make many changes this year and released only three players. They released Kshitiz Sharma, Kanishk Seth, and uncapped player Mark Wood from the squad this year.

Kings XI Punjab

There were major changes in the squad and veteran player Yuvraj Singh was out of the team due to poor performance along with Aron Finch and  Akshar Patel. Mandeep Singh was released and Marcus Stoinis was included in the team.

Rajasthan Royals

There were many big names released this year from this team including D Arcy Short and Jayadev Unadkat, the costliest Indian player. They stood fourth in the previous season despite accommodating a lot of costliest players in the team.

Kolkata KnightRiders

There were no considerable changes in the team. The franchise retained three all-rounders Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Chris Lynn before the auctions. They released all the other foreigners from their side. They finished third next to Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

They stood at the second place last year and exchanged Shikhar Dhawan to Delhi Daredevils before the auctions this year in exchange of Shahbaz Nadeem, Abhishek Sharma, and Vijay Shankar. They released Wriddhiman Saha, Carlos Braithwaite, and Alex Hales and are looking to retain David Warner who was out of the team due to the ball-tampering scandal.
