India looking forward to brushing their game before Test series by playing the Cricket Australia XI might have to wait till Thursday. Due to heavy rains, the first day of the practice match in Sydney is expected to the postponed. With Weather department warning of extreme weather on Wednesday, 28 November 2018, commuters are advised to not use the roads as there are chances of damaging winds and hazardous conditions in some parts of the Sydney.
India will be playing the practice match against Cricket Australia XI that will take place from 28 November 2018 – 01 December 2018 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. From the Indian side, all the Test specialist players will be playing in the Test while no premier players are part of the Cricket Australia XI squad.
Kangaroo team led by wicket-keeper batsman Sam Whiteman will only have one capped player D Arcy Short. There will be some other domestically established players in the team like Jackson Coleman, Chandigarh born batting allrounder Param Uppal and Max Bryant.
However, with heavy rains on Tuesday and predicted on Wednesday, November 28, India will most probably have a day less at first class practice game.
On the other side, the Australian Test squad was seen practising at the SCG with banned duo Steve Smith and David Warner helping players to prepare for the tough Test series with India. David Warner was also present to practice the team for the T20 series that India managed to end with a tie.
Sydney is facing a tough weather for the last few days with conditions deteriorating before the final T20 game. Rain is forecasted on Wednesday as well as Thursday but its weather is expected to improve as the day progresses on Thursday with a chance of clear sky.
