IPL auctions will commence on 18th December 2018 at Jaipur and the tentative date for the commencement of the tournament will be tentatively on 29th March and might end on 19th May 2019. IPL governing body already released shortlisted players for the auctions out of 1003 players. The shortlist included 227 Indian players and 119 overseas players. Here is the list of players with the low base price.
- Mohit Sharma- Rs. 50 lakhs
He was released by the Kings XI Punjab franchise this year. He got an opportunity to play for CSK in 2012-13 and in that season he picked 20 wickets off 15 games. in the next season, he picked 23 wickets off 16 games. He got a contract for a massive sum from KXIP in 2016 and in previous season he was the first player to be retained by the franchise before the auctions. But he picked 7 wickets and 9 matches and as a result, he was released by the franchise. He was one of the underrated players with a base price of Rs.50 lakhs.
- Shimron Hetmyer-Rs. 50 lakhs
He is one of the most underrated players from the West Indies. He scored a dazzling hundred and 94 in the recent ODI series he played. This blossoming player might impress any franchise with his spontaneous knocks and energetic performances.
- Manoj Tiwary- Rs.50 lakhs
He was picked by KXIP in the previous season and was released this year. He is in splendid form and slammed 366 runs from 9 matches in the Vijay Hazare tournament. He recently smashed a double century in the Ranji trophy. Though his base price seems lower at the moment, he deserves more on account of his performances in the domestic circuit.
- Manan Vohra- Rs.20 lakhs
He is the grandson of veteran hockey player Y.P.Singh and is a known person in the IPL for many years. He was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous season. He played for Punjab in the U19 team and is one of the crucial top order batsmen. His team was the champions of Vinoo Mankad U19 trophy. His blistering performance of slamming 67 runs and his stand with Wriddhiman Saha in the final of IPL7 and 95-run knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of IPL 2017 are among his best performances.
Though he had a poor outing for RCB in 2017, he wants to bounce back in this season. He was purchased by RCB in IPL 11 for a whopping sum of Rs.1.1 crore.
- Sarfaraz Khan- Rs.20 lakhs
He is a known name for the fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was bagged by the franchise at a tender age of 18 years and he slammed some memorable innings in IPL 2015 and IPL 2016. He had a forgettable IPL 2017 due to injury woes and was released by the franchise. He scored just 51 runs from seven matches and deserves more remuneration as he is considered as a man with x-factor.
