IPL 2019: Glenn Maxwell Can Miss IPL For Domestic Cricket

Glenn Maxwell is one of the regular players for Indian Premier League. He had a poor outing in the previous IPL  and decided to skip this IPL season to play for Australia in the test squad. He will play for England counties throughout the IPL season. He played his last test series in September 2017 against Bangladesh.

This 30-year-old player was out of the Australian team due to poor performances in the recent past. He missed out to play the current test series in India. He will join his former teammate and opener Joe Burns for Lancashire during the county cricket season next year.

James Faulkner, one of his world cup winning teammates will play for Lancashire as well. He expressed his interest to play test cricket for his country and wants to use the county season as a foundation for his career. He told to the press that “This is a pretty clear sign I still want to play Test cricket,”

“To knock back a chance to play IPL was a big decision and a tough decision. It’s not something you make lightly, but the thought of playing Test cricket again still burns deep. I desperately want to get back out there and I still think I have a lot to offer the Australian Test team.”

On the other hand, the chances of Delhi Daredevils to retain him are very less since he did very poor in the previous season. He was ruled out of the team that played two tests in UAE against Pakistan.
