IPL 2019: Players Who Might Not Get Any Buyers This Auction

IPL auctions will be carried out at Jaipur on December 18th, 2018. Though some of the players are the costliest buys in the previous seasons, due to lack of spark in their performances, they were released by the franchises. Veteran players like Yuvraj Singh and Ishant Sharma are included in this list. Here are some of the players who might lose the chance to play in this IPL season for being unsold.

Yuvraj-Singh

  1. Yuvraj Singh

He is the hero of Worldcup 2011 and his story is an inspirative one for bouncing back after cancer attack. He was bought by the Kings Xi Punjab for the previous edition of IPL. He was one of the players retained by the franchise before the auctions for a remarkable remuneration but he could not meet the expectations about him in the previous season. He scored just 83 runs from 10 matches at an average of 10.83 at a strike rate above 89. He was the costliest player for Delhi Daredevils in 2015 and was playing IPL since the inaugural season in 2008.

  1. Mohammed Shami

His performance and figures in IPL are not as good as his test career. He was always considered as test specialist. In the previous edition, he was left unsold by the franchises but at last he was retained by Delhi Daredevils. He faced a lot of issues in personal life but managed to bounce back in his test career. Since he had a poor outing for Delhi Daredevils, he was released by the franchise this year. He picked just three wickets from four games in IPL 2017 at an average of 48. He failed to adapt to T20 format and hence this reason might leave him unsold in this IPL auctions.

ishant sharma

  1. Ishant Sharma

He was one of the specialist pacers for India in the test format. Though he did well in test series against England and Australia, his specific line and length put his IPL career in trouble. He was picked by KXIP in 2017 but he did not make his mark then. Since IPL he played 76 games and picked 59 wickets at an economy rate of 8.71. He might not be picked by the franchises due to poor outing in the previous season and growing age.

  1. Cheteshwar Pujara

He is another test specialist batsman who had poor IPL experiences so far. He played for RCB, KXIP, and KKR from 2008 to 2014. His defensive style made the franchises shun him. He did great in the Adelaide test by slamming a crucial century but might not picked by the IPL franchises this year.
