India slammed 6 runs by losing a wicket after Australians were bowled out at the score of 326 runs. Tim Paine and Pat Cummins thrashed Indian bowlers and Ishant Sharma ended his spell by picking 4 wickets and conceding 41 runs. The duo of Tim Paine and Pat Cummins extended their solid stand to 59 runs in the first hour. Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav separated their stand within the difference of three deliveries.
Within two overs, Ishant Sharma picked two wickets to collapse the Australian innings when they were at 277/6. Finally, Australians were bowled out at the score of 326 runs and Murali Vijay is the first man to get dismissed from the Indian side at the score of 0.
This doesn’t mean that Indian bowlers did not bowl well in the first over that the mistakes in wicket keeping yielded 29 runs from the first one hour. The Australian lower order is efficient in running between the wickets and Pat Cummins added 19 runs to the seventh wicket stand before he fell to a delivery of Umesh Yadav. Not starting the second day with Jasprit Bumrah is the biggest mistake committed by the Indian side.
Tim Paine added 38 runs and he fell to Jasprit Bumrah after facing 89 balls. Pat Cummins fell at his 66th ball after he scored 19 runs. Ishant came back to his second spell and succeeded to pick the wicket of Mitchell Starc. Ishant Sharma picked the wicket of Josh Hazelwood with next delivery.
Just like Mohammed Shami in the first test, Ishant Sharma was on a hat-trick after picking the wicket of Josh Hazelwood and the Australian innings at the score of 326 runs.
Murali Vijay encountered 12 balls but could not hit a run and fell to Mitchell Starc.
