After a thrilling win against Australia in Tests, India is all set to take on the hosts in the ODIs. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced in a release that India pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be rested for the forthcoming ODI series against Australia and for the New Zealand tour.
Bumrah will be replaced by Mohammad Siraj in the squad, the release stated. “Keeping in mind the work load of the bowler, it was best felt to give him adequate rest ahead of the home series against Australia. Mohammed Siraj will replace Bumrah in the squad for the Australia and New Zealand tour.”
Other than Siraj, the Punjab pacer Siddharth Kaul is also included in the squad for the 3-match T20I series against New Zealand.
The upcoming ODI series against Australia that starts on Saturday will include MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, who left for Australia for the three-match series on Monday.
BCCI has confirmed that the players took flight in the afternoon and will be joining rest of the squad in Australia.

Rohit Sharma was not in the fourth Test as he flown back to be with family for the birth of his first child.
Rohit, who was also in the Test squad, had flown back to Mumbai for the birth of his child.
Winning the Test series on the Australian soil, India created history by becoming the first Asian team to do so.
