Kings XI Punjab wants to enter IPL 2019 fight with major changes but the core team remained the same. The franchise could not lift the title since the commencement of IPL but made way to the finale in a few occasions. Here are a few players to watch out for in this season.
- KL Rahul
Lokesh Rahul got the opportunity to play for the franchise after being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous season. He slammed fastest fifty against Delhi Daredevils from 14 balls and amassed 659 runs from 14 games. With his contribution, Punjab franchise managed to win five out of seven games in the first half of the tournament. His average was 54.91 at the strike rate of 158.91.
In his IPL career, he added 1384 runs from 53 matches at an average of 38.44 and a whopping strike rate above 139 with 10 fifties in total. He is the second best contributor for the team in the previous season after Chris Gayle.
- Andrew Tye
This arrogant medium pacer contributed a lot for the franchise and grabbed the Purple cap by picking 24 wickets from 14 games in IPL 2018 at an average above 18.66 and economy rate above 8.00. In his IPL career, he picked 36 wickets from 20 games at an average of 16.36 and economy rate of 7.64, with his best performance being 5/17. His efficiency to pick quick wickets is one of his traits to secure his position in the team as a crucial bowler.
- David Miller
He got fewer opportunities than he deserves in the previous editions. He played just eight matches from two seasons. He is one of the fiery batsmen who can make quick runs at the hour of the need. Fondly called Killer-Miller, he slammed 1637 runs from 69 matches in his IPL career at an average of 35.59 and strike rate above 140. He amassed 8 fifties and one hundred in IPL. His best score is 101 against RCB in IPL 2013.
