India came back with mixed results in the Australian and New Zealand tours by winning test series against Australia and ODI series against New Zealand by 1-2 and 4-1 respectively. However, Indians should learn from petty mistakes they made in the tour to encounter Australia in the upcoming T20I home series from 24th February and ODI series starting from 2nd March. Australians will face India in a three T20I series followed by a five ODI series. Here are a few changes that Indian selectors might make for the upcoming home series against Australia.

  1. KL Rahul and Umesh Yadav into the squad

Despite poor performances, KL Rahul might be included in the team since the team needs a backup wicket-keeper and a strong batsman in the middle order. Umesh Yadav might replace Mohammed Siraj since Umesh had a good record in the home series so far. Rohit Sharma might lead the team if Virat Kohli will be rested for the series keeping the world cup season in mind. Shubhman Gill might make a place for KL Rahul since he can serve as an opener with his long years of experience.

  1. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah into ODI Squad

The ODI series against Australia is a crucial one since it will be like a warm-up before the world cup season. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah might enter the ODI squad again after a long break from New Zealand T20I series. Apart from these changes, India might come up with the same batting line up for the series against Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah might replace Mohammed Siraj or Khaleel Ahmed since he was rested for the previous series and this series will work like a practice for the upcoming world cup.
