IPL 2019 is scheduled to be conducted from 23rd March and BCCI announced the schedule for two weeks of the 12th season of IPL yesterday. IPL has provided a stage for the young talents and brought the peculiar talents of existing champions into the light as well. Here is an account of a few consistent performers in the previous seasons of IPL.

  1. Lasith Malinga

malingaHe is one of the players in the IPL who is being the part of the tournament since the inaugural season. IPL gave scope for redefining skills of batsmen and bowlers equally. Lasith Malinga is one of the players who set his own standards in bowling to win the game for his team. He picked 154 scalps from 110 IPL matches with an average of 19.01 and a whopping strike rate of 16.01 at an economy rate of 6.86. He is the highest wicket-taker for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and registered 4 4-wicket hauls and one five-wicket-haul in his IPL career.

He was the part of the team in Mumbai Indians in the three occasions they lifted the tournament and in the previous season, he was one of the bowling mentors. This year, he was bagged by the franchise as the player.

  1. Suresh Raina

Suresh-RainaHe was one of the consistent players for Chennai Super Kings since the inaugural season of IPL.  His potential as the match-winner was revealed after his performances in the IPL. He stands as the top-scorer in the IPL with 4,985 runs from 176 games ahead of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who slammed 4,948 runs from 163 matches and 4,493 runs in 173 matches, respectively. He scored a century against Kolkata Knight Riders and slammed 35 half-centuries in his IPL career. He is one of the towering figures in the top-order for Chennai Super Kings for so many seasons. He is once again heading to rewrite his own records with his IPL batting average being 34.37 and strike rate of 138.47.

  1. Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh-KarthikDinesh Karthik stood as the most successful wicket-keeper in the IPL. He played for five franchises since the first season of IPL and is a worthy batsman and wicket-keeper for the team. He is the man with the highest number of dismissals in IPL in his account followed by MS Dhoni and Robin Uthappa.  He made 124 dismissals from 168 matches which include 94 catches and 30 stumpings. MS Dhoni and Robin Uthappa have 116 dismissals and 90 dismissals under their belt respectively. He captained the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018 which finished their journey at the third position. He is longing to hand his team the most prestigious title once again.
