Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL with three titles under their belt similar to Chennai Super Kings. Though they failed to reach the playoffs in the previous season, the team is equipped with potential players like Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma and a handful of efficient overseas players. Here is the SWOT analysis of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2019.
Since they bagged titles in 2013, 2015, and 2017, fans are expecting the Mumbai Indians to clinch the tournament in this fancy year. Jasprit Bumrah is one of the top bowlers in all formats or cricket worldwide and Rohit Sharma is one of the best openers in all the formats of cricket in the world. However, this year is predicted as a crucial one for both of them with upcoming World cup season. Rohit Sharma had the record of handling the IPL title for the team thrice.
Mumbai Indians is one of the teams with the best all-rounders in plenty. Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting, and Kieron Pollard are the top all-rounders for the team which is intended to maintain perfect balance in the team among Indian and overseas all-rounders. Though Ben Cutting and Kieron Pollard made disappointing performances in the previous season, they are trying hard to regain their past glory and play a pivotal part in the victory of the team.
Yuvraj Singh was bagged by the team for this year though he was released by the Kings XI Punjab in this season. He started his practice session with a massive six and wants to bounce back and perform well to get back into the national team. Undoubtedly, his journey after his fight with cancer is an inspiring one but after that, he made only a few memorable knocks.
Inconsistency in No.3 Position
Ishan Kishan performed very well in the previous season but is fighting poor form since a few months. If he can regain his form, he can make wonders with his bat and can hand victory to the team single-handedly. Suryakumar Yadav is another all-rounder often underrated with the presence of other all-rounders but he can bat well in all the positions in the hour of need. He is a consistent bowler when the team needs a back-up bowler.
The team maintains the balance between Indian and overseas players and the Caribbean players are known for the best athletic performance and this is an additional asset for the team.
