Delhi Capitals came up with a completely new look to take on the experienced Mumbai Indians on their home ground at Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Indians are again being trolled for being the slow starters in the IPL by losing their game to one of the infamous teams in the IPL.

Shreyas Iyer lost the toss and the Delhi team were called to bat first. They lost two early wickets but Shikhar Dhawan and Colin Ingram stabilized the innings by the contribution of 47 runs by Colin Ingram and by classy shots of the newcomer to the team, Shikhar Dhawan. This duo proved that their experience is the strength for Delhi Capitals, which came on to the stage with more number of young cricketers.

Rishabh Pant showed his new batting style by slamming unbeaten 78 runs off 27 runs from his innings to post a massive score of 213 runs from 20 overs and beat the hosts by 31 runs. His radiant innings include 7 boundaries and 7 sixes. Pant troubled Mumbai bowlers with explicit shots like single-handed six.

Though Wankhede Stadium is known as the favorable stage for the chasing team and 213 is not an impossible score to chase, Mumbai team failed to post a decent answer to the opponents. Though they were a couple of strong stands, they could not guide the team towards the most anticipated victory.

Earlier, the Delhi bowling attack was trolled as the kind of test format, Kagiso Rabada bowled consistently to take a couple of scalps and Keemo Paul, one of the newcomers picked the crucial wicket of Kieron Pollard. Yuvraj Singh is the only man from Mumbai side to fight for the team by slamming 53 runs off 35 balls.

In addition, Mumbai Indians are getting scared of injury woes of their pivotal bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. Though Suryakumar Yadav seemed to fight back, he lost his wicket at a crucial moment in the game. The team seems strong with eight specialist batsmen and seemed to give a tough fight at the moment but could not sustain the disciplined bowling attack of Delhi bowlers. Rishabh Pant seems the star player for the day by his magnificent innings and might cement his place in the national team for the upcoming world cup.
