Sanju Samson stood as the fourth Indian batsman to thrash two hundreds in IPL after  Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay, and Virender Sehwag. He slammed his first IPL century for Delhi Daredevils against Pune Supergiants. He finished his IPL 2018 season for Rajasthan Royals with 441 runs from 15 matches.


He slammed his second century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Hyderabad yesterday while he got a strong stand from the skipper Ajinkya Rahane on the other end. Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes added a stand of 68 runs and helped Rajasthan Royals to post 198 runs from 20 overs by losing 2 wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad could reach the target easily by losing 5 wickets and clinched the game. Though the efforts of Samson went in vain, he achieved a rare record from this game.

Sanju Samson came into limelight with his performance for Pune Supergiants in 2013 and he played for Rajasthan Royals till 2015. Virat Kohli holds the record of slamming the highest number of IPL centuries in his career.

Virat Kohli slammed four IPL centuries from 2016 season to guide the RCB team towards the finale. He added 973 runs from 16 games in that season. In 2010, Murali Vijay added 127 runs off 56 balls for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals and later added 113 runs off 52 balls against Delhi Daredevils in 2012.

Virender Sehwag also slammed two IPL centuries in his career. He slammed 119 off 56 balls against Deccan Chargers for Delhi Daredevils in 2011. He smashed another hundred for Kings XI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings in 2014.

Chris Gayle holds the record of highest number of IPL centuries by slamming six hundreds and Brendon Mc Cullum and Adam Gilchrist are two overseas players with two IPL hundreds under their belt.
