IPL 2019 Match 12 Report: CSK Beats RR By 7 Runs

Chennai Super Kings won its third game in the IPL 2019 on a row. They kept on their unbeaten status by winning over Rajasthan Royals yesterday. Chennai Super Kings seemed to be in trouble during the first half of the innings but blistering innings by MS Dhoni cruised the team towards a win.  MS Dhoni stood as the top scorer to guide the team towards the win whereas Dwayne Bravo slammed 27 runs and Suresh Raina scored 36 runs.


Dwayne Bravo slammed three fours and one six from his knock of 16 balls and MS Dhoni slammed an unbeaten 75 runs to contribute to the team’s win. Dwayne Bravo and Suresh Raina added 61 runs to their stand. Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo added 56 runs for their stand. CSK suffered a tough time by the end of 15th over when they were 99/4. Dhoni supported to add 76 runs from last 5 overs and add a decent score for the team.

Dhoni added 28 runs from the final over and slammed Jayadev Unadkat with three consecutive sixes. Rajasthan Royals added one run and lost Ajinkya Rahane. Later, the pair of Rahul Tripathi and Steven Smith added 61 runs for their partnership. After their dismissal, the team lost two more wickets before Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer repaired the innings. Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes added 44 runs from 18 balls but Rajasthan Royals lost the match as they slammed 167/8 off 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals needed 12 runs off final over but Ben Stokes got dismissed by the first ball and Jofra Archer slammed 24 runs off 11 balls but his efforts went in vain as the time was up.

Dhoni came to bat when the team was in trouble with 27/3. He came to bat in the fifth over and rebuilt the innings by slamming 75 runs off 46 balls and was awarded the Player of the match. He slammed his first boundary by his seventeenth ball and slammed Jayadev Unadkat with three consecutive boundaries. Suresh Raina gave good support to the skipper by slamming 36 off 35 balls.

Jofra Archer dismissed Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo by conceding 17 runs and bowled 12 dot balls.  Deepak Chahar bowled an economical spell and picked two scalps, and Imran Tahir dismissed Steven Smith and Ben Stokes to collapse the middle order of Rajasthan Royals. Dwayne Bravo made an outstanding performance by picking two wickets from the last over by conceding three runs.
